Explore the trails of national parks like Torres del Paine as you conduct research and fieldwork and study climate change impacts and approaches to conservation. Travel through some of the world’s wildest ecosystems and experience the biodiversity of Patagonia through expeditions to the southernmost tip of South America and the northern volcanic lakes region. Program Highlights
Hike through the dramatic landscapes of Torres del Paine National Park, and take an expedition to neighboring Argentina and the stunning Perito Moreno Glacier.
Embark on expeditions to the southernmost tip of South America and the volcanic lakes region of northern Patagonia.
Travel to the island of Tierra del Fuego—encountering king penguins, windswept landscapes, and evidence of massive volcanic eruptions, and meet with the Selk’nam community living on the island.
Research on topics including climate change impacts, resilience, conservation, ecological succession, aquaculture and aquatic ecology, coastal and alpine ecology, and protected areas management.
Visit the site of Fuerte Bulnes to learn about the arrival of the Chilean state to Southern Patagonia and the way historical and environmental conservation coincide.
